1) Q. What does "Meezmeyer" mean?
A. Meezmeyer is a completely
made up word. Producer Craig Murphy actually coined the phrase
back in the early 1980s when we were producing comedy bits on
audio cassette tape (a time we affectionately refer to as the "old
radio days." ) Meezmeyer (in Craig's mind)
means jury-rigged or hastily thrown together without much budget.
As in: "That cheesy prop is so Meezmeyer" (or bad).
2) Q. Did anyone get paid to do Meezmeyer?
A. No!
3) Q. If there were so many fans, why did
the show go off the air?
A. There's only so much you can do when competing
with a show as popular as My Two Dads. Anytime
you go up against a power-house NBC juggernaut like that, you're
bound to come out on the losing end. Seriously, we got older
and the bills kept coming which had to be paid. That, in addition
to slowly losing studio time to the inferior "talking heads" shows
which started cropping up, led to the demise of the show.
4) Q. What happened to the
rest of the cast?
A. We've been sending out subspace distress
calls to every part of the known galaxy but, so far, no reply
to our hails. At last report, cast member Mike Cwynar was
involved with video production at the Foxwoods Casino. John
Palazzolo is the proud papa of a daughter and living
with his significant other in the wilds of Pennsylvania. Jeff
Young is doing quite well for himself working regularly
in the media (must remember to ask him for money). Jay
Jurgen is living the good life in the suburbs with his
wife Jen. We see them every so often for cookouts. Brian
Albert is M.I.A.
Less-regular cast members are harder to locate. We haven't
seen much of anyone else since those Meezmeyer days.
