The weather is cooling off and the kids are back in school (thannnkfully). Craig and I are working on a few shorter film scripts so that we may bring more of a variety to the web site. We've also been gathering resumes and pictures of new talent for our database.
Recently, we collaborated with another group out of New London, Connecticut. Stone Water productions and their president, Dave Quintana have their own Star Trek series online. It's been available for 3 years and they recently asked some of the Meezmeyer players to act in their production. We got to be a part of the very last episode of the series: Star Trek Beyond (Dave is moving to Texas to take on a larger, paying job in the film industry). Still, there is always the possibility we will work again with the very professional group at Stone Water Productions. If you'd like to see some of their work, go to: stonewaterproductions.googlepages.com.
I'm happy to report the creation of The Farmington Valley Film Commission is well on its way. I'm one of many volunteers helping to put a production guide together to help boost local commerce in our area. With all the recent video production going on here (Ghost Hunters from the Sci-Fi channel, and HGTV doing their programs like "House Hunters,") there has been a certain buzz about our area from outside film and video crews.
Our last project, "Star Trek vs Star Wars (another nerd's fantasy)" is making the rounds at several film festivals including Tri-City Films out of Seattle. We are pleased to report we have already made it past the first group of judges and the final winners will be announced soon.
Keep checking back as we will soon be revamping the look of our site

Meezmeyer is always searching for new talent as well as
crew people for behind the scenes. Actors should email pictures
and resumes.
We are also looking for crew people (specifically: videographers,
production assistants and still photographers). Please
email resumes with experience.
It should be noted there is no pay for your services. You
will get online credit and a copy (DVD or VHS) of your work.
Most shoots will only require a few hours of your time. We
prefer to use people living in the Hartford area but we will
make exceptions. Passionate artists only, please. If you
don't love what you do, why bother showing up and boring
us?
